Blog Posts

Thank you to all who left a comment on my last Post about reading other Blog Posts
I learnt that there are lot of different options that I had not even thought about
And that some of us do things exactly the same  :-)

Every day brings us something new to learn

Blog Posts

Curious
Sometimes I wonder about too many things
Nothing important or life changing
Usually nothings in particular

So I am going to ask for your input with this one

It's about blogging posts
Do you?????

1)  Read them from RSS Feeds or Email (by subscribing)?
2)  Or do you blog hop to each site?

Me personally
Well I receive feeds and emails

So that's one vote for No 1. !

Hi

It is a big on Pooh, but he has a child's head size (Pooh not the hubby  :-))

Witches Wicks

Hi everyone

This is what working with acrylic does for me

See that little piece of skin lifting near the cuticle
Well that catches the yarn
But only with acrylic, no probs at all with natural fibres
Thankfully this should be nearly the last of the gifted acrylic which I am using for charity items

My Mum use to call them "Witches Wicks"
Don't know why or where the name came from

Anyone else have a name for them?

Hats

Hi everyone

I have trouble wearing hats
Well not wearing them, but more them suiting me

Must be the overflowing brain  ;-)  (see this post)

But this looked interesting

Love the little brim on it
You can wear it up or down

Clever Shawl

Hi everyone

This project initially was for me
I have so much trouble with wearing shawls
They just seem to fall off me or not stay put
And I am not a fussy type who will keep re-adjusting
I put clothes on and that's it.

This project had all the right things
I would not have to worrying about making it stay put
Simple, Easy
A little lacy

Garter stitch is stretchy
But this is slightly too small for me
Will fit soon though
Details here

Mods - 8ply wool and 4.5mm needles
Worked 16 points in total because of the the thinner yarn and needles
I also worked extra increases to get a bit more depth on the back

Love the shawl

After I finished it, I thought it would be lovely for those in nursing homes, wheelchairs etc.
Something pretty and yet functional

It really is a Clever Shawl

Love and Hugs

Hi everyone

Well remember that pink wool I just had to buy for someone very special?

And you know how much I hate "knitting" scarves
There are so many pretty crochet patterns out there to use
But the someone special does not like crochet
So as it was a project of love and hugs
I persevered
You can imagine how much love and hugs went into this ;-)

What a mess

But lightly steamed blocked, it became this
Just in case you were wondering how much love and hugs went into it
220cm x 13cm!!!

Now fingers crossed the recipient likes it

Details here
Just in case you were wondering, as this was a rush job, the wool is not Bendigo's Classic but Heirloom's Easy Care.  It would seem that it is only a branding difference between them.  The wool feels exactly the same, but Easy Care's seems very slightly more splitty the Classic.

I have been ....

.... crocheting
But for some reason the project is just not working for me

I love the yarn - Bendigo 8ply Cotton - so soft
The colours are lovely - looked even better in the photo
Pattern works up well - and I love the projects others have made with this pattern.

Maybe its just all the changing of colour????
Hubby doesn't like all the white - I love it?????

So this little project is just sitting
Staring at me from the top of my pile
So I don't forget
So I will find inspiration
So I ........ ?????
Darn, what is bothering me with it?????

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my recent quilting post.
You lot are no help at all  ;-)
As it seems that most of you have been tempted into other crafting pursuits too  :-)
My only resistance at the moment is that there are no material shops close to me
And I am definitely wanting to see "jellyrolls"????, "charm squares"??????, "fat quarters"????? etc etc etc in person ............. I think
