I've decided to share images / photos that I have collected over the years here.
The posts will be random with no chronological link, just as I think about them, they will be posted

Why, of course you design a Neckwarmer - 😁
And dream of cooler weather ⛄

Lucky to have a willing model in temps in the mid-high 30's

Hats
Hi!!!
I've recently been seeing a few items that have captured my interest lately.
Fair Isle / Stranded knitting
The colours!!!
The patterns!!!
Oh my!!!
I have tried it before, but at that time I did not understand the skill level involved in such beautiful work. My projects turned out well and had a fair amount of wear. Sorry, but no photos to show that skill.
But I thought I would start again - as a beginner and actually try knitting the colours with two hands. One doing my normal 'throw' method and the other using 'continental' style.
Now normally I cannot do continental, but for some reason I find it relatively relaxing when using two yarns - go figure
So here are some of my latest creations - be kind please, still learning
This one I am not parting with.
It fits and actually suits me when wearing it.
Hats & me don't usually go together.
So this one is a keeper
And those sheep - love
Pandamonium - more challenging for me than Baa-ble. Forgive the wonky eye
And this one I adapted from the book "Aussie Fair" - Poss
Most of these will be off to one of this months Knit4Charities charities.
It's been a great stash-busting exercise and I think will continue for a while.
So many lovely patterns and ideas are out there
Have a wonderful week

Another Boronia :-)
Hi :-)
The 3 month version of Boronia is off the needles :-)
It is worked in yarn from Bendigo Woollen Mills backroom.
A beautifully soft 5ply, in a colour which is a little hard to capture.
But I think the photo is very close
And here is all three versions of Boronia worked in different weights of yarn and size needles - 4ply Baby Blossom, 5ply Purple-Pink and 8ply Tanzanite
Pattern is available in my Ravelry store or on Etsy (links in side bar)

Aussie Maria Pattern - Boronia
Hi everyone
Although it has been a very long time since my last cardigan pattern was released, I have about a zillion half started / half worked out patterns sitting on my computer which just need finishing touches and final reworks
A friend enquired if a new one was on the horizon and I thought ....... just do it ....... get one finished.
So I relooked at all of them and .......
I totally reworked one and changed it (read simplify here) :-)
This is the Newborn, long sleeve version using Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply Luxury
And this is the 6 month, short sleeve version using Bendigo Woollen Mills Stellar in the beautiful colour, Tanzanite (pity its no longer available)
Love, love, love this!!!!
One written pattern, but using different weights of yarn and different size needles to create the sizing.
A photo of the 3 month, 5 ply version to follow
Just in time for this months Knit4Charity's donations - Women's Life Centre (NSW) who are after clothing for newborns to 6 months.

Desert Pea Pattern
Hi
Ive just uploaded a new pattern to Ravelry & Etsy
You may notice the link on the sidebar
I hope some of you like it and wish to try it
Its fairly simple, with just one lace row
The name I chose for it was the colour of the yarn of the first sample -
Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Luxury called Desert Pea.
Sadly the colour is discontinued.
But I love the second one I made in Ruby :-)

This time the knitting was just for Me!!!!

My apologies
To the very lovely ladies that leave comments on my blog - Dorothy & Maria in particular.
I have just spent the last half an hour going round in circles trying to reply to your comments. Particularly where a question was asked.
I have gotten absolutely nowhere
Sorry :-(
Dorothy - the Bendigo Woollen Mills Cotton washes & wears very well.
I have been using it for about 4 years for my grandchildren - cardigans, blankets etc.
It can even be washed on a gently cycle in the machine.
My grandchildren have not been 'hard' on the garments, so not too sure how it would withstand hard rough & tumble wear
Have a great day

Mummy's Choice
Sharing my latest project for GD1
D3 chose the colour and the pattern
Pattern is Granny's Favourite
Yarn is Bendigo Woollen Mills Cotton 8ply in Wild Lavender. Its a hard colour to capture correctly. Sometimes it appears more bluish as in this photo
Love the pattern
GD1 cried when she saw it. Not tears of happiness, but sadness :-)
It wasn't pink - hahaha
The cat buttons saved it for her
So another one will be made :-)
Have a great day

Birthday Gifts
Hi everyone
Well I finally got a long-awaited chance to get to my sewing machine
I was desperate
Doesn't matter that we spent months planning and researching. I had to complete these projects today. Life, family, end of year festivities got in the way.
So here is a gift bag, already filled with gifts, I made for our granddaughters 3rd birthday
Can you guess her favourite colour? ;-)
Please don't look too closely at the stitching. I was having a few tension issues and rushed to finish it
I used a Spoonful of Sugar's Drawstring Pouch tutorial as a guideline, just adjusted the sizing.
The embroidery pattern is from Bunnycup Embroidery
And here is the big tah-dah!!!!
Hubby did the poles and rope and I did the sewing for it and D3 did the decorating
A wonderful joint effort.
A wonderful joint effort.
Pattern & tutorial was from here
And she loves it!!!!
GD1 was so thrilled, she spent the night in there :-)
Have a wonderful day
