Crochet, Knitting and ...

Hi everyone

I have been very busy over the last week or so researching a surprise genalogy project for a friend.  I finally got it into a book format and printed and gifted to him last weekend.  He was very surprised and very appreciative too - surprised me with a some bottles of wine to say thank you ☺

So what did I do last weekend, other than surprise a friend?
Well hubby's cricket team made it to the semi-finals, so that means two days of cricket, not one

So on the first day, this was made

details here from a blog I have been reading Le Monde de Sucrette  - check out her rainbow poncho's - beautiful

and on the second day, this
details here

Both items are going to an up-coming charity for this month, NSW Women's Refuges

And then I got a surprise
Something on my Bucket List, not high priority, 'just a would like one day' kinda of one
But, oh what a very nice kinda of one

I got to ride in this

A Ford Mustang!!!
A favourite car of mine from w-w-a-a-y-y back ☺☺

And yes, it is left-hand drive

And so what is planned for this weekend?
Well, hubby's team won the Semi-Finals, so that means another weekend (two days) of cricket.
Better go looking for a few patterns and yarns to while away the hours ☺

  1. The poncho and beanie look very sweet. I think my partner would be very jealous of you right now as that is his favourite car too. He got to drive one whilst visiting America many years ago!

  2. You have been busy. What a lovely thing to do for a friend. I'm sure the book you made will be treasured and the poncho and beanie are just in time for the cool weather. Our grandson is a Ford fancier and would have enjoyed that ride too.

  6. Gosh, Maria, you are a fast worker!

If he keeps winning at the cricket, you could open a shop! Lovely work.

Congrats on the mustang. Hope you got photos of you in it.

    Cheers

  7. I see you have been busy searching patterns on Ravelry - thanks for adding my beanie to your favourites. It's a favourite of mine too (I wonder if one can add one's own projects as favourites? LOL). My absolute favourite of the moment has to be the Drop Stitch Scarf by Christine Vogel.

The Mustang just had to be red, didn't it?

  9. Beautiful knitting and crochet. The poncho is lovely, I remember wearing one of very similar colours way back in the '70s.
Fab car too! Wouldn't mind one of those myself.
