Scarf in Late Spring!!!!

What am I doing???????
Just a little something I whipped up.
It's been on my "one-day" list for a while
I wanted to see how this yarn knit up - not much better to knit up than to crochet cause of its splittiness.  But it is lovely soft and silky - darn
And this is a very quick project - only took me an afternoon

Pattern link here for the Bow Knot Scarf
Made with Patons Smoothie DK and 4.5mm needles
Centre bit is 46cm/18in
Used 46g/92m
So wonderful one ball project
As I wanted something loose around the neck - I really HATE anything firm around my neck.
So I am able to just lightly stretch this over my head and it sits a bit below the neck, just a little

I have a lot of trouble wearing scarves
Love the way people are able to wear them as accessories etc - just not me
But this is something I could wear
No fiddling or adjusting

But as I really don't like the colour, its not for me
But this will be great for my charity knitting

P.S. - there is a big project I am working on at the moment, but I want to see it completed before I share with you all.

And I'm off to Brisbane next week
Hubby's adding another notch to his Bucket List - Watching Cricket Test Match in every capital city in Australia

  1. This will be perfect to wear while filling that Bucket List next week. Have a great time. Take some pics to share. I have admired this pattern for a long time. Still trying to figure out how to crochet it. Glad to see you back around and popping in every so often.

  2. The scarf looks great. I knew what it was knit from as soon as I saw it as I have a bit in my stash too.

  3. Hi Maria, Lovely scarf. I am one of those persons who is always wearing a scarf but this one is not already in my collection. Looks like a great pattern to give it a try. The yarn you used gives it a nice twist.

  4. I'm with you Maria I just can't wear scarves. Perhaps I could if it was cold enough but up here that just doesn't happen - for me anyway. I need to see how it sits so how about a demo? It might be just the thing for me too.
Hope the weather is good for you next week. We have had a warm day today - around 27 - and it is quite cool tonight with a lovely breeze but the weather has been quite cloudy and rainy so far this Spring/ Summer so you never know what is coming next.
Anyway enjoy the cricket and don't get sunburnt.
    Cheers
    Helen

  7. Maria, this is lovely. The colours are so very spring and just right to keep the chill from the neck. Love it.
