Yarn - Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Cotton in Pomegranate and Snow

a couple of little ......

..... recently completed projects

Yarn is Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Cotton in the new Pomegranate and Snow
My own spin on many free Ravelry patterns

I did say projects
Sorry, but no access to the other photos on this computer
But you can see them on my Ravelry

I remember my Nan used to do the Feather & Fan pattern for nearly all her baby outfits.
I thought it was an "old-looking" pattern
But I spotted a couple of projects - shawls, baby, adults etc etc
And my thoughts changed

I have fallen in love with it
So simple and easy for me to remember

Fresh look at something old

Blogger Moderation

Just a quick post from me
Not really a whinge but an explanation

Some of Blogger's moderation requirements are totally ridiculous

One post I tried to comment on
The first square was almost totally black with a tiny little glimmer of white, only when you really stared at it - this is where the number is suppose to be

And as for some of the letters - some run so much together, that it is pure guess work if I get it right or wrong.

I am reading your lovely blogs

But may not be commenting
But I do TRY!

I do understand why it is there
But they could at least give us a chance to read what we are suppose to be typing in!!!

Baby Vintage Patterns

Do you remember this?

Chickadee Vest inside

The Chickadee Vest with Mods

Well, I decided to re-visit this pattern and actually work the pattern it’s suppose to have

Chickadee Singlet 8ply Cotton

I again modified the pattern a little – Chickadee Singlet

The original does have the rib hem, I worked garter

And the lacy bit is supposed to be in garter.  When I tried that it just reminded me of a beginner knitters project with holes  Smile.  I also knew I was limited in the amount of cotton I had, as you can see by the contrast crochet around the neckline and armholes – I ran out. So I tried it in stocking stitch.  Much prefer it that way

Yarn used is Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Cotton Daffodil (so very soft) on 3.75mm needles

Pattern worked up about 3-6mths size

The pattern is from this old Patons booklet

Patons R18

Have a lovely weekend

Here is another singlet I made from this pattern book

Again with mods :-0

Heartbreaker Singlet 8ply Cotton

Heartbreaker, again with mods (worked a lace border on bottom and in the round)

Again from Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Cotton New Ochre on 3.75mm

I’m off for a romantic, freeze-your-butt-off holiday.

Will tell you about it on my return – maybe Winking smile

Big Balls!!!

Found online
Please sing along  Smile

I like, big, balls and I cannot lie
You other knitters can’t deny
That when a yarn rolls up with a four-ply twist
And a fuzzy thing in your fist
You cast ON
Wanna pull up gauge
Cuz you notice that yarn was sage
Deep in the ball it’s roundin’
I’m hooked and I can’t stop pouncin’
Oh, baby I wanna get wit’ ya
Fondle ya and then I’ll knit ya
LYS done tried to sway me
But that ball you got
Makes me so cray-zay

Bendigo Luxury 8ply Citrus, Forest, Leaf, Orange
Now of course this is the type of balls the song is referring to  Winking smile

One day it was there

and the next it had disappeared!!!!

The last post that is.  Only found it had disappeared because I wanted to edit

What is going on ?????????????

It went something like this

Sorry for not posting so often

But the needles have been busy with lots and lots of projects

Knit 4 Charities this month has two I want to contribute to – Australian Inland Mission and Sydney Homeless Connect Day.

Plus a lot of challenges that I would love to contribute to, but just don’t know if I will get time.  And nothing in the appropriate in the project drawer

Family and friends have had requests too – Yippee!!!

K4C COTM

That time again
This month I am supporting NSW Women’s Refuge
The co-ordinator/collector is a fellow blogger Aussie Knitting Threads
2012 Mar NSW Women's Refuge
and
2012 Mar NSW Womens Refuge 2
And I just managed to squeeze the Pimpeleisee Scarf/Shawl in
Pimp folded
And just so you know – No, I am not a speed crafter/knitter/crocheter
I do like having a variety of patterns to work
So I make them up and store them away for the right charity
Since I have supported this one before, I did have a little stock-pile
But note to myself – next year, make items for 4+ year olds
Not as many crafters for the LARGER sizes  Smile
