Aussie Swing REVISITED

So if you have been around here for a while, you might remember my pattern "Aussie Swing" which is available both on Ravelry and Etsy.

Well I have been making a few changes -
Firstly there are now 4 sizes - 3-12mths, 1yr, 2yr  and 3yr

And I worked another lace pattern into the design

Worked in Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Cotton - Glacier
Its so soft, love it

I'm really pleased with how well this fit into the pattern :-)

  1. I think I like this one better than the original (which I loved BTW). My DD is expecting her first bub (a little boy) in about 5 weeks time and I think this will be nice for a boy. I'm a bit reluctant to use cotton as I worry that it might lose its shape when washed. I have some BWM 8ply cotton - do you know if it washes well? Oh, I've just sent you a message on K4C as to which pattern I should download? The link sends me to a list of about 5 patterns. Is it the one on the very bottom of the list and will I also need to download the sleeve option (revised) pattern? xox

  2. Aussie Swing uses Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply cotton. I have knit the pattern repeatedly in the cotton and other BWM yarn (a little addiction to BWM :-). ). My granddaughter has been the recipient of a few, especially in cotton. As instructed by me, daughter just pops the Cardi in a lingerie bag & into wash. They still look as new with her wearing them quite a bit.

Granddaughter is a little older now, which is why I tried a new lace pattern, I play with even my patterns :-). As she is a walking, climbing etc, it will be interesting to see how the cotton holds up over the year.

  3. Hi Maria, this is beautiful and I'm so appreciative of the extra sizes. It was a lovely surprise to read the email from Ravelry saying that I could download the new version...wouldn't get that generosity from other designers, so a big thank you to you as well!
